Case study: Seabed geodiversity, Loch Broom and the Summer Isles

Studies by the British Geological Survey in the area of Loch Broom, Little Loch Broom and the Summer Isles have revealed a wealth of detailed information about the geodiversity of the seabed. This includes submarine moraines and other landforms that record the pattern of retreat and dynamics of the last British Ice Sheet. These provide an important link with onshore evidence and also support a range of marine habitats.
